Tracy has organized a Panel Discussion with independent art space prprietors at CCA. The Panel will consist of representatives from: 21 Grand, Boontling Gallery, Lobot Gallery, and R.P.S. Collective. The panelists will show images of their respective gallery spaces and discuss how their gallery started and what kind of goals they set for the future. This is a good opportunity to learn about showing at one of these venues or starting your own. Their will be time at the end of the presentation for questions.

miya ando stanoff                                                                    david kaminsky

Miya Ando Stanoff seeks to draw out the natural beauty and elegance in metal through use of subtle shades of silver and grays in her steel canvases. She uses traditional metal finishing methods such as grinding, sanding, patinas, and the application of heat. She also works with solvents, acids and metal-based pigments to create the baried textures and surfaces on her pieces. In her work, she explores such themes as solitude, nothingness, tranquility and the transitory nature of things.

David Kaminsky exhibits found-object sculpture. His small interactive sculptures blur the lines between natural and man-made, using text and images to give clues about the pieces. Each one holds its own mystery, often dealing with the ways we understand our own fleeting lives and the discoveries made therein. The emphasis is on texture, craft, and form.
